Gloriana at Her Majesty’s 90th Birthday Celebrations

Royal barge Gloriana led a flotilla of boats down the River Thames in London to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations on Saturday 11th June 2016.

A crew of able-bodied and adaptive rowers with disabilities manned the vessel, with guests including Lord Sterling and Sir Steven Redgrave on-board. The small-boat flotilla comprised vessels from every decade of Her Majesty’s reign, including Havegore, the Royal Shallop Jubilant, and the legendary fireboat Massey Shaw. Crowds of people, out and about in the city during the celebrations gathered on the city’s bridges and riverbanks to catch a glimpse of the unusual spectacle.
